Immediate settlement occurs instantly after load application in all soil types. It’s calculated using elastic theory:
Si = (q × B × I × (1-ν²)) / E
Where: q = applied pressure, B = foundation width, I = influence factor, ν = Poisson’s ratio, E = Elastic modulus
